GA License Plate Help!

Attention Georgia Friends!ga-license-plate

HB 104, the bill to provide for revenue sharing for A.T. license tags passed out of the Motor Vehicles Committee this afternoon. Thanks are in order to Representatives John Carson and Mike Dudgeon who cosponsored the bill. Rep. Dudgeon presented it to the committee. Also thanks to GATC member Johann Artigas for speaking on behalf of the bill before the committee.

The next step is to get HB 104 through the Rules Committee. This committee is the gatekeeper for all bills that are eligible to come to the full House for a vote. There are only 4 days for the bill to get through Rules and onto the floor. Please contact Rules Chair John Meadows,john.meadows@house.ga.gov404.656.5141 right away.

Talking points:

Tell him you support the passage of HB 104.

Ask him to report the bill favorably out of committee for consideration by the full House.

Tell him that if HB104 becomes law, the funds returned to ATC/GATC will be used to support youth outreach and hiker information programs that will benefit the citizens of Georgia. It’s a win-win.

The license plate is a magnet for out-of-state tourists and outdoor enthusiasts to visit Georgia and enjoy its recreational benefits.

If you wish to contact your own representative and ask for her/his support for HB 104, I encourage you to do so. Here is a link to information on how to contact your own legislator: http://www.house.ga.gov/Representatives/en-US/HouseMembersList.aspx

Now is the time to stand up for the A.T!

Thank you!
